Steve Cela

President

Strategic Office Support

Steve founded Strategic Office Support to provide a much-needed service to clients and at the same time, make a difference in the lives of his employees. In addition to Strategic Office Support, Steve owns Apnix Sleep Diagnostics, Houston’s leading sleep diagnostic center, and Apnix CPAP Equipment and Supplies, a medical equipment supplies company.

Steve holds an MBA from the University of Texas, Dallas, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biochemistry from Baylor University.  He is a recognized member of the Whitehall Club and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.  Steve is a Houston native, and when not working, he enjoys time with his family, exercising, racing cars, and nutritional education.

Drew Copeland, RPSGT, CCSH, is the Director of Product Operations at Synthpop, an AI-powered healthtech startup focused on reducing administrative burdens for healthcare providers. With a sleep medicine background and workflow automation expertise, he specializes in bridging the gap between AI technology and real-world healthcare challenges. As a product leader, he translates customer needs into impactful solutions, driving innovation in clinical operations. When not optimizing healthcare workflows, he’s likely creating engaging content on sleep science or planning his next dungeons & dragons session.

Kim Cuce'

Director, Business Optimization

With an impressive 24 years in healthcare, Kim has dedicated her career to the durable medical equipment (DME) industry since 2010. Prior to joining VGM as the Director of Business Optimization, she owned a comprehensive medical billing company catering to a diverse clientele of family practitioners, rehab centers, orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians, emergency room physicians, and urologists. As the managing partner of a small full-service DME company in 2010, she orchestrated remarkable revenue growth from through a strategic blend of organic expansion and targeted acquisitions. In 2011, she was sought after by a large provider to provide consulting services, addressing reimbursement challenges for healthcare practices. Her expertise in revenue cycle strategies, analyzing workflow processes, policies, compliance, company structure, reimbursement, and denials culminated in the development of a successful restructuring plan, including the creation of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the establishment of performance benchmarks. Notably, she has served as the Director of Operations and Director of Reimbursement and Payor Relations for very successful DME companies. Her commitment to the industry extended to board service with several state associations.    

Julie Dube

Julie Dube has 28 years experience in HME Industry, including 7 years as a Brightree user for DME providers. Positions held include DME biller, Billing & Collections Manager and Operations Manager. Currently responsible for the success and optimization of Brightree HME programs for enterprise customers.

Dan Fedor

Director, Reimbursement and Education

U.S. Rehab

Dan Fedor has been in the HME industry for more than 25 years and currently serves as the compliance director for VGM and US Rehab members. He is available to assist members with documentation requirements, audits, and compliance for mobility products. He is a graduate of Penn State University where he earned a BS in Economics with a Business minor. Dan joined VGM in 2014, and before that, was the director of Education and Compliance for Pride Mobility Products Corp. for 13 years. Prior to joining Pride, Dan served as a senior manager for Professional Relations and Electronic Data Interchange for the Jurisdiction A DME MAC (United Healthcare) for nearly six years. 

Billy Fredericks

Director of Business Development and Compliance

Billy Fredericks is the Director of Business Development and Compliance at Allcare Medical Supply. Before moving into the DME space, his career focused on legislative positions within the Massachusetts State Senate. His career started with volunteerism during a 2014 Senate election, where efforts were focused on door knocking and public meet-and-greets. He moved into an internship in the Senate, returning every summer in an increased capacity in the Senate Office. In 2018, he started as a legislative aide, and moved his way up to Constituent Services Director, then Communications Director, and ultimately finishing his career as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Assistant Minority Leader in the State Senate. When he joined Allcare Medical Supply in 2023, he was able to blend his passion for the DME industry with legislative affairs by continuing efforts in an advocacy capacity. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors' University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Calvin University.

Bruce Gehring

Bruce Gehring is an accomplished Sales and Marketing Executive with over 16 years at Allegiance Group, focusing on business development within the Home Medical Equipment (HME) and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy sectors. With 28 prior years in Finance and Hospitality, Bruce brings a wealth of experience in resolving complex marketing challenges, exploring new market opportunities, and implementing effective sales strategies. His role encompasses the development and execution of sales and marketing plans, strategic product enhancement, and overseeing the sales team. He is actively involved in creating educational content, including industry articles and webinars, to share best practices in patient engagement and revenue cycle optimization. Bruce also contributes to the industry as a member of the education committee for MAMES.

Jason Morin

Jason Morin is the Vice President of Healthcare for Analytix Solutions, a Massachusetts-based organization providing tech-enabled services and solutions across various industries, including healthcare. With over 25 years of leadership experience in the HME sector, Jason has held prominent roles such as Senior Manager of Market Access at Coloplast, President & CEO of HOMES, and Vice President of Reimbursement and Payor Relations at Home Care Specialists, Inc.

A passionate advocate for healthcare equity, Jason works collaboratively with industry stakeholders to advance policies, regulations, and legislation that ensure access to medically appropriate medical supplies. He holds an MBA with a healthcare concentration from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care from Boise State University. Jason currently serves as Chairman of the Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care, a member of the Northern Essex Community College Respiratory Care Advisory Board and on the AAHomecare Payer Relations Council.

Kyle Neese

As a Senior Account Executive at ACU-Serve, he specializes in driving revenue growth, optimizing resupply programs, and building strategic client partnerships. With a background spanning operations management, SaaS, and Medical Devices, Kyle leverages data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. 

Mandi Rodgers

Mandi Rodgers is the Vice President of Marketing at VGM & Associates. Prior to joining VGM in 2017, Mandi worked at an AV/IT company to help build their customer engagement and communications structure. Her background includes a unique combination of broadcast, public relations, and marketing in healthcare, sustainability, and consumer products, providing her with valuable insights into the marketing industry. Mandi is driven to help companies accelerate their marketing initiatives and reach their goals, and has her BA in Mass Communications. 

Andrea Stark

Andrea Stark is a Medicare consultant and reimbursement specialist for medical equipment suppliers, hospitals, and pharmacies. As of 2023, she has over 25 years of experience in the DME industry, including 20 years as an independent consultant. Stark founded MiraVista, LLC after working for the Region C DMERC, and now provides consulting, education and data analysis services to suppliers throughout the country. Stark is the former Chair of the Jurisdiction C Council and collaborates with numerous state and national associations.

Laura Williard

Vice President of Payer Relations

American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare)

Laura Williard is the vice president of payer relations for the American Association for Homecare. In this role, she has formed relationships with national payers including Anthem, TRICARE, the Defense Health Agency, AIM Sleep Management and CareCentrix, to have a greater impact on policy and operational changes for HME providers. She has consulted with legal staff on the impact of the CURES Bill and created reference materials and resources for the industry; and at the state level she has been a driving force to secure wins in several states who were following suit with Medicare reimbursement. Williard has served in the HME community since 1999, most recently at Advanced Home Care as senior director of regulatory affairs, reimbursement compliance, and contracting. She has extensive experience working with managed care, Medicare advantage, MEDICAID MCOs, and state Medicaid programs.  Laura is very active in the state associations, serving on the board for GAMES, FAHCS, OAMES, HOMES, SCMESA, ACMESA, Payer Relations Co-Chair for KMESA, and Vice President for ATHOMES. She also served as the Vice Chair for the Jurisdiction C Medicare Council, and is a founding member of the Mediware User Group. Williard also participated as a member of the Palmetto 16 State Coalition Committee and sat on the Public Policy Committee of the Visiting Nurses Association of America, and both home health associations during her time at Advanced Home Care.  In addition to her industry involvement, Williard has previous experience managing a large reimbursement department with 150 employees and was responsible for all aspects of the revenue cycle.
