Managed Care - Right to Contract and Negotiating Key Provisions: Jeff Baird, Chairman, Brown & Fortunato,
Description: Managed care has become an important part of DME suppliers’ lives. More than 35% of Medicare beneficiaries are covered by Medicare Advantage Plans; more than 70% of Medicaid patients are covered by Medicaid Managed Care Plans; and “straight” commercial insurance managed care plans are proliferating. This program will discuss three important topics for DME suppliers:
(1) What steps can a supplier take to increase its odds of being offered a managed care contract?
(2) What steps can a supplier take when a Managed Care Organization contracts with a Third Party Administrator?
(3) Before signing a managed care contract, what are the key provisions that the supplier needs to focus on?
